Large Scale Data Management

The research group deals with the storing, indexing and retrieval of large scale data (in the orders of TB and more). The group focuses on scalable distributed architectures that can efficiently manage large amounts of stored data. We are combining distributed processing frameworks, such as Google's MapReduce, with recently proposed NoSQL software systems on top of commodity, "shared nothing" computer clusters. Our goal is to provide efficient and scalable solutions to problems that arise from the exploding amount of data that needs to be stored and processed.
